Gisborne Transit

Gisborne Transit provides public transport services in and around Gisborne (Victoria) in low-floor, wheelchair-accessible, air-conditioned vehicles all year round.

Route 473 is a set timetable, set route covering the inner areas of the Gisborne township.  This service operates 7 days per week, except public holidays.

Route 474 is an on-demand route, operating 5 days per week (except public holidays) and is a "book-and-ride" service.  Bookings can be made here.

A 'School Special' service operates on all school days, providing transport to and from local primary and secondary schools on a set timetable.  This route is set at the start of each school term, but is subject to change based on demand and public feedback.

Gisborne Bus Network Review

The Department of Transport & Planning is currently conducting a review of the Gisborne Bus Network. The review plans to improve the public transport in the Gisborne area, including introducing services to newly developed growth areas, more direct route paths and better connections between train and town bus services.

The three key proposed changes are:

• Reforming routes 473 and 474
• Update to Bullengarook service
• Update to the Gisborne Town School Special service.

The bus network changes have been funded through the 2022/23 State Budget and respond to an increasing population in Gisborne and growth concentrated in areas with no current public transport.
